    Not before time.
  • Paddington toilets have been absolutely disgusting every time I have used them. The 30p charge was an insult as it felt really unhygienic. I wouldn't have minded if the toilets were nicer and cleaner!

Slow news day, not as though your going to wait for it to be free before you use the facilities is it.

They have been free at Birmingham New Street since the opening of the Grand Central development a couple of years ago.

How many people carry cash these days? I don't! Scrapping the charge makes the facilities available to more people.
  • We don't even have toilets at our rail station!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

about 10% of the population dont carry cash so 90% do.

didnt know train stations charged for use, I use many around east anglia and they dont charge
  • I think it's mostly large stations in city centres who charge. I thought Glasgow was 40p though! Always wondered why it was more expensive than Euston.

Manchester Piccadilly seem to have been letting people use the facilities for free outside certain hours, and the other day they were removing the turnstiles from the platform 13/14 waiting lounge toilets altogether.

So, instead of saying 'I am going to spend a penny', I now have to say 'I am going for a free pee'
