Audi A3 Clutch

I purchased an Audi Approved A3 from one of their dealerships in March 18. The car was registered in 2017 and has under 20,000 miles on the clock. The other day the clutch just failed completely with no warning signs leaving the vehicle to be recovered and taken back to the dealership for investigation. Had a phone call today and they have said that it's not covered under warranty and is due to wear and tear. I drive the car normally as I have with every other car I've owned and never had this problem let alone on such a new car! Any advice on where to go next? I just wasn't expecting such a major and expensive problem so early on, and to not be covered under the warranty.

I often browse through the vw/audi/skoda forums on PistonHeads for tech/diy stuff, burnt out newish Audi clutches has popped up several times recently. Some talk of manufacturing defects maybe?
    Might be worth a read.
Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.
Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience?

Why? So you can argue with them?

They won't cover underwarenty. I'd recommend talking to head office and explaining the situation they often do goodwill gestures and get a report or the old clutch back to a specialist to see what they think if they believe its faulty part contact audi and if necessary go through small claims.
