Just received a new T&Cs booklet from MBNA, likely bringing them into line with LBG terms, taking effect from Feb. Major changes to minimum payments and allocation of payments, the latter especially being of note if you have multiple offers running at once.

They are moving to the same platform used by the rest of LBG eg Lloyds Bank, Halifax, bank of Scotland.
  • Having read the changes, they look quite reasonable certainly not MAJOR??

With many who post on here confused over allocation of payments and minimum payments then any change to those could be considered major.
  • And stating they are making major changes wont add to their confusion will it?

just wait for the responsible lender letters from Lloyds, slashing limits gone are the days of offers now
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • New conditions are much clearer about not being able to hold a positive balance on the cards: others on MSE have apparently balanced transferred onto MBNA cards and been given a refund from MBNA by cheque - a cheap way of converting a non-MBNA balance transfer card into a money transfer card. The new terms close this loophole down.

I like the MBNA card, for the constant repeat offers.

    Hoping that doesn't change.
  • Cash advances one is quite a nice change, western union etc wont be classed as this. Hopefully revolut, monzo etc fall into this category.
