Parking charge issues

Hi!!
Also having issues my self not sure if anyone can help? I went over by 22 minutes due to car park being grid locked on the day but hadn't realised I went over.
I had moved house a week before, forms had been sent to DVLA but all the letters went to my old house and have only recently been picked up! So the debt collectors have sent a letter and smart parking aren't willing to acknowledge the issue I have. Any advice please? (Store manager is calling me tomorrow but not sure if I should try anything else)

Complain to the store manager and CEO if you haven't already done so. Customer Dis-services are no good with this sort of thing. Point out that other retail outlets are available. Remind them of the problems stores are having with reductions in sales.
Leave negative feedback on social media as well to warn others about this.
Complain to your MP about this unregulated scam. It really is the only this will ever get stopped.
''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.
Ignore DRP, they are powerless and can do nothing except send you poor quality bog paper.
I'm assuming Not so Smart sent a PoPLA code that is now out of date. Tell them that they must allow alternative dispute resolution for up to one year in accordance with the ADR Act 2015.
Complin to the BPA and DVLA if they don't (which they won't.)
Not so Smart don't currently do court, but they have six years to try, so keep an eye out for real court papers, and give them your new address if you move again within that time.
Thoroughly read the sticky thread for NEWBIES and tell everyone you know to come here if they get an unfair private parkig charge.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

smart parking aren't willing to acknowledge the issue
Then let them take you to court if they are up for it.
I doubt if any judge in the land would consider this to be a breach of contract. Perhaps the judge might consider their behaviour to be unreasonable and award you CPR 27.14 (2)(g) costs.
As FC says, a complaint to to your MP often brings results, read what one MP said about this company in the House of Commons.
[I]Pete Wishart (SNP, Perth):
"I am sick and tired of receiving emails from people complaining about the behaviour of parking companies, telling me that they will never again visit Perth city centre because of the negative experience they had when they had the misfortune to end up in a car park operated by one of these companies. I have received more complaints about one car park in the city of Perth than about any other issue. That car park is operated by the lone ranger of the parking cowboys: the hated and appalling Smart Parking—I see that many other Members are unfortunate enough to have Smart Parking operating in their constituencies. It has reached the stage where one member of my staff now spends a good part of each day just helping my constituents and visitors to my constituency to navigate the appeals process.
…
The BPA does not have the ability to regulate these companies and has shown no sign whatsoever that it is trying to get on top of some of the sharper practices. The BPA gives a veneer of legitimacy to some of the more outlandish rogue operators by including them in their membership, allowing them to continue to operate. The Bill will oblige operators such as Smart Parking to amend their practices."
That would sound good in court. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
