Hi guys,
Asking for a friend, I had my ticket a couple of years ago now, and the thread is closed...
Basically, in the same carpark funnily enough, a ticket was served as soon as the guys back was turned
Same advice, read the sticky and then action after the 26th day wasn't it?
Thanks.

Refresh your memory by re-reading the NEWBIES thread. Changes have been made since your earlier reads.0

Thought as much, and better to ask. I've sent him the links.
Thank you.0 -
Leaving site is very hard for a PPC to win in court.
They have to prove that they made every effort to mitigate their loss, that it is not an unfair term in a consumer contract, and that it is not a breach of the Human Rights Act. Hiding behind a tree until you have left is unlikely to impress a judge.
It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business. Hopefully that will take place in the near future. The Bill has passed through the HOC without hitch, and goes to the Lords soon. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers. Read this one which I wrote earlier
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.
Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.
All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
So much so that UKPC were frightened off when it went to POPLA recently. They chickened out because they could not prove "driver left site".
UKPC are one of the scammers that gives the industry a bad name and makes the BPA look stupid because they approve them0 -
A quick update to this one guys, my friend has found a receipt for KFC, who have a presence on the site. Is it worth inclusion (scanned attachment, with a little explanation?) on the 26th with the template in the NEWBIES thread?0

No, that is not worth the risk.A quick update to this one guys, my friend has found a receipt for KFC, who have a presence on the site. Is it worth inclusion (scanned attachment, with a little explanation?) on the 26th with the template in the NEWBIES thread?
The risk being that your friend will unwittingly reveal the identity of the driver.
I would suggest that the blue template appeal be sent unchanged by the keeper.0 -
Okay, so the template appeal went in on the 26th day and a receipt generated, and the process frozen until investigated.
Yesterday my friend received his NTK offer; £100 instead of £60
He's got the receipt proving that a purchase was made during the time of the 'offence' all ready. With my ticket, a few years back, they very generously cancelled proceedings once I'd sent in proof. I made no reference to being the driver, nor did I mention the relevance of the attachment I was sending in, they must have filled in the gaps themselves!0 -
Has he taken it and the PCN into KFC, to complain & get it cancelled?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I think he did you know, as I did with mine, a couple of years back. I went into Staples where I'd made my purchase and they weren't interested. When I sent in my receipt to these muppets the ticket was cancelled almost straight away!
I'll get him to go into KFC - see if they're any different.0
