Can we do anything...phishing and other issues

Partner found a website but another company picked uphis details. He thought he was dealing with the original company. He was putting a bit into what he thought was bitcoin. We eventually found out that they r a fraudulent company. We called up bank but they dont want to do anything even when mentioned section 75. They said to go to trading standards or citizens advice now. Is this how the bank should behave. They consider it gambling so it seems their exvuse for a get out clause. Any help appreciated😔

Based on that initial info, I can't see how the bank has any liability but if he's been defrauded then he could report it to Action Fraud....
  • And another took over. He also had a call by the original company that someone taken on identity. 600 people I think I heard ill ask

  • This isn't making much sense.

    Too much crack for breakfast.
  • Thinking it was that original company. They managed to get him to put 2000on card and they said wound not go under 2000 anyway. Actually his money went up to 11k they said but I think they could have set that up. He said well I would like my money now. Then they said it will take 2weeks to get it. He then never got even his original money or the extra. They kept giving excuses. Then a month on or so they even said there was no money😱
  • Let me guess... Saw a company on Facebook, everyone was making millions from bitcoin. Spoke to the "company" (guy in a flat) who told him to transfer lots of money and once he realised someone was gullible to send cash kept asking for more and more until there was no cash left and then disappeared....
  • Not insult or judge someone particularly when one may not have all info and their life??

I'm not sure what help you hoped posters could offer?
It's not up to the bank to advise, or prevent, anyone investing in bitcoin.
It's pointless anyone just posting what you want you hear and as you say, no one here has any info about your partners life or any deals he may have made.
