I've only skim read it but it appears to cover the major points. It should do the job.
  • Thanks, Waamo. I’ll give it a go!
  • Should I add anything about actually paying but getting the number plate wrong? Or is it inconsequential?

A wrong VRN may a trifle to a judge, but a significant breach of contract to a PoPLA adjudicator. In the end, the only think that matters is what a judge decides

Have you complained to your MP yet?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

@TheDeep - no, I will though. Although it won't affect my POPLA appeal will it? What happens if I fail the POPLA? I pay up?

You need to re-read post #3 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.

I'll quote just one line from it:
Do you have to pay of you lose at POPLA? No!!
Quite simply - a PoPLA decision is not binding on the motorist.

POPLA decisions are not binding on the motorist, in this case you wait up to 6 years to see if they issue proceedings in the small claims court. If you receive a LBA/LBC/LBCC, come back here with your defence for critique, having done the AOS in a timely manner - see all this in the NEWBIE help posts. Complaining to your MP will not adversely affect your POPLA appeal and, if your MP has anything about him/her, may get the invoice cancelled.
