Hello all,
I'm new to the board and new to the concept of credit scores and reports.
I was hoping to ask for the forums sage counsel and impart some knowledge on the I am having with getting a credit score.
So, I am currently looking at getting a mortgage and I am trying to do some background research on what is the best way forward. All the information I have read states that credit score will play a BIG part on what I will be offered in terms of amount and rate of interest.
To be pro-active I thought I would use two free services to get a rough credit score; clearscore and Experian's CreditExpert. I am able to get a score thorugh ClearScore 435 out of 700 (been told thats "good"), but CreditExpert just says it is unavaible.
Reading bits and pieces online suggests that the reason I am unable to get a score or report from Experian is that I do not have credit listed against me.
A brief history is as follows:
- Previously had taken loans out - completed payments in the last 5 years
- Do not have an overdraft or credit cards.
- Have DD's set up for mobile phone and internet
Can anyone tell me why I can see a score on one system and not another and what are the chances that this will affect any applications I make for a mortgage in the future?
Thanks.

Scores are meaningless. Theyre created by the credit reference agencies so they have a products they can sell to people.
You need to look at the reports. The contents of them as opposed to the made up numbers. Look within the reports and you should see most of your borrowing is on both reports.0 -
The number given to you will have no effect on your mortgage application. If you want a score for Credit Expert use a random number generator between 0 and 999. Actually to save you the hassle I'll generate one for you.
Here you go, your number for Credit Expert is 240. Hope it helps you:rotfl:

Disregard the scores as they have no meaning and are not used by anyone.
Use the MSE Cub as another way of accessing your Experian file to see if anything appears. Also remember Noddle for your Transunion file.
It may be that no on reports to your Experian file.0 -

I used the MSE Club and was able to get my score right away.
I should have really looked there first.
Thank you all for your help.0 -
Please disregard your score.
Remember you're looking at the data, not the pretend score.0
