Advice On PCN

Hello, just after some advice please.

My mum received a PCN from a company called PCN Parking Solutions for not showing a permit when she went to the doctors last week.

She is under the impression these aren't real ''fines'' and refuses to pay it. (stubborn 80 year old)

I'll happily pay it for her but she won't give me the charge details.

Any advice on how this will go if she continues to ignore it or is it possible I can call them with her reg number and just pay it without her knowing.

Thanks in advance

Why would you want to pay a scam, that even our parliament has called an industry full of cowboys?

Have you read the newbies thread on here?

What happened when you complained to the surgery about the harassment of their clients?

NOTE: never call a scammer ever!!

Your Mum is correct, these are not fines but invoices. However the parking companies are fraudsters who try to extract payment by (almost) any means possible so ignoring doesn't usually work and paying is defeatism. When I am a stubborn 80 year old these facts will energise and infuriate me even more than they do now I think. Run them by her, I wouldn't mind betting she'll be up for a fight when the penny drops.

Meanwhile, do complain to the surgery in the strongest terms ASAP. You can do that without the charge details. Explain why you don't have them, insist that they agree to get the charge cancelled and endeavour to get the details from your Mum for the surgery if they do need them to cancel it, which they may not. I hope your Mum does decide to fight if necessary but the complaint (and not taking 'no' for an answer) may well do the job.
