Exit fees

I have gas with one provider (no exit fees) and electric with another (£25 exit fee) and I want to change to a duel fuel tariff with the company who is currently providing electric.
Will I have to be exit fees even if I’m staying with the same provider but request to switch to a duel fuel tariff ? Thanks!

Probably not. You are normally free to switch tariffs with the same provider without paying exit fees, so going from electricity only to dual fuel should be fine. Do contact the supplier first though to confirm.

Check the terms of your supplier and the terms of the tariff you are on - I believe First Utility charge exit fees in the situation which you describe.

Why go to 'Dual Fuel' ?

I know it's bit of a faff dealing with 2 bills rather than one, but time & time again it proves cheaper to buy Gas from one supplier and Elec from another
Visit the comparison sites and search for ' Elec only', with a second search for 'Gas Only'
