Wrong Registraion and reissued
Krangs
On the 8th November 2018 we received a Parking Charge, from UKPC, on our car but the registration number was wrong (last two letters round the wrong way) the pictures online showed the registration plate correctly.
We ignored the ticket and on the 11th December 2018 we we recived a Parking charge notice with the right registration on and saying the original ticket has been reissued, now with the correct registration plate number.
Are they allowed to reissue a ticket if they got the wrong number on the original ticket and should we just pay it.
Thanks

If the original NTD, (left on the car), is wrong, then the NTK, (which comes through the post) must arrive within 14 days. So in your situation the NTK doesn't comply with either paragraphs 8 or 9 of POFA.Are they allowed to reissue a ticket if they got the wrong number on the original ticket and should we just pay it.0 -
NTD, (left on the car), will be followed by a NTK no sooner than day 29 and no later than day 56
one would imagine if they sent the first after day 29 , then the second one would hAVE ARRIVED AFTER DAY 560 -
Yes, they can issue a corrected notice in the post. This isn't a council ticket (where getting the number wrong would be fatal). They often make minor "errors" in the Notice to Driver in the hope the recipient contacts them and outs themselves as the driver. Are they allowed to reissue a ticket if they got the wrong number on the original ticket and should we just pay it.
The last part of your question suggests you haven't read the NEWBIES thread, as no-one would ask whether you should pay up having read it. Of course you don't.
What you do is to use the standard appeal (blue text in the NEWBIES thread), which doesn't reveal the driver, and tells them the notice does not conform to POFA, so there is no keeper liability.0 -
If the NtK (postal notification) doesn't repeat the information shown on the NtD (windscreen ticket), then it fails the requirements of PoFA in order to hold the keeper liable (provided the driver's identity hasn't been revealed).
It's not a total get out of jail card, but unless the PPC knows who the driver is, they can only pursue the keeper - or not, as this case appears to be.
