Wifi booster

Have some real dead zones around the house., as router is on upstairs landing. My desktop PC uses wired connection to internet, so if I buy a booster for wifi in other rooms, is it quite safe from a security point of view (probably a very stupid question I know, but I do worry about these things:o)
Also can anyone recommend a wifi booster - preferably under £25??
Many thanks.

We have an Amazon Firestick on TV downstairs, which does sometimes struggle. Also family staying at the moment and internet access is pretty poor via the wifi.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0
