Wifi booster

Options
Have some real dead zones around the house., as router is on upstairs landing. My desktop PC uses wired connection to internet, so if I buy a booster for wifi in other rooms, is it quite safe from a security point of view (probably a very stupid question I know, but I do worry about these things:o)

Also can anyone recommend a wifi booster - preferably under £25??

Many thanks.

We have an Amazon Firestick on TV downstairs, which does sometimes struggle. Also family staying at the moment and internet access is pretty poor via the wifi.
