  • Thanks for all your replies.
I am not here to get advice on what to do next rather just to see what other people's views and experiences are.
All the information, pictures and witness details have been passed on.
I have left it for the insurance company to deal with as after all that's what we pay them for.

Address fronting is a common thing. Say a young driver lives in a high risk area like Bradford which costs a lot to insurer. He lies when taking out his policy and says he lives in a remote area of Scotland and sees hundreds knocked off the cost. Documents are emailed to him so it does not matter to him that he never gets the post associated with the policy.

If he is prepared to lie about his address to save money on his policy what else will he lie about to have a claim settled in his favour. Op is entirely correct to flag the concern to both insurance companies. What address did the driver give at the scene.
  • He could be fronting.

Or he could be a gentleman from West Yorkshire who lives in Lockerbie and had popped back to West Yorkshire for perfectly legitimate reasons.

I think the OP's use of apostrophes around 'gentleman' implies that there is more to this than where the third party is living.
