Old Orange PAYG tariff? Beware

It's not correct that you need to top up every six months; I'm on O2 classic PAYG and haven't topped up in over a year.Gloomendoom wrote: »I was on Orange PAYG and switched to Three 123 PAYG.
A lot cheaper than my Orange tariff and no need to top up every six months like O2 Classic PAYG.0 -

Sorry, I must have misinterpreted what O2 say on their website....Classic Pay As You Go
When you join Classic Pay As You Go, you pay for what you use, as you go. The minimum top up requirement is £10.
If you don't top up, or add a Bolt On at least once in any six month period, your mobile will be disconnected and you'll lose any credit on your account. If you want to be reconnected you'll be given a new mobile number.

Agreed that is what O2 say on the link you posted, but this requirement does not appear anywhere in the PAYG terms and conditions or the Classic PAYG terms.Gloomendoom wrote: »Sorry, I must have misinterpreted what O2 say on their website....

Look at Tesco. I changed to them when I discovered others in my family that I contact are on them & T to T calls are cheaper. I obviously use mine a lot as my last top up was March 2017 & I have used a whole £3. Also the signal here is better than others which is why I gave up on Orange/EE.0

Update: After everything went quiet, not hearing anything from EE, I contacted them again.
They ended up giving me a bit of extra credit as a sweetener to switch to their £1 a week tariff, which will give me more calls and texts than I know what to do with.
It's likely to work out more expensive for me in the long run, but I now have so much credit on my account that I shouldn't need to top up for over 6 months. At that time I can ponder on the way forward. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
