New mortgage at 58 as part of divorce settlement

I'm trying to negotiate a divorce settlement. I've suggested splitting house equity, pensions, and paying maintenance similar to what I've been paying since separating five years ago. I'm currently renting.
She hasn't worked for ten years, and is going to claim that she's unable to work for mental health reasons.
The house equity is £600k. My wife's lawyer is suggesting I take out a mortgage so that she can have more of the equity. Might a court enforce this, considering I'm 58? There's obviously risk because if I lose my job (I was made redundant from my last job) I still have to pay the mortgage.
I think I'd be willing to do it till I'm 62 (ie a three year mortgage), but would that be too generous?
Thanks

What is your lawyer saying?
How old is the child(ten) you're paying maintenance for?0 -
Not sure yet, but wanted another opinion. Children are 18 and 24, I am down to help younger one with uni expenses.0

Our mortgage was granted with an end date when my husband will be over seventy. They took into account that he was a member of a final salary pension scheme so were happy to accept this as evidence of continued affordability.0

I would be ok with that if I received more than 50% of the pensions. But at the moment they're being split equally.0
