G24 ltd private parking charge

Hi, I've read the newbies post and also read several threads regarding these "fines" but I just want to air my particular circumstance to put my mind at ease (especially over the Christmas period). I received a private parking charge back in may or June 2018. I returned to my car within the allotted time but found I had a flat tyre. The time it took me to change this then took me over the stay limit of 2 hours in a retail shopping park. I have received several letters from G24 and from Zenith stating that I need to pay but as it was due to circumstances beyond my control I disagree that I am liable. So I have been ignoring these letters with the latest one being a Gladstone solicitors headed letter on behalf of Zenith.
My question is, do I continue to ignore or should I contact the retail park owner or G24 direct, explain what happened and tell them to call off the hounds?
Thanks in advanced

1. Ignore anything further other than a LBC or MCOL Claim (see NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #5 for acronyms). As I write, G24 have never issued a single court case, despite issuing hundreds of thousands of parking tickets. My question is, do I continue to ignore or should I contact the retail park owner or G24 direct, explain what happened and tell them to call off the hounds?
2. Contact the retail park owner (probably your contact point will be the Managing Agent) and give them the background and ask they get this cancelled for you.
3. No point in contacting G24, they only want money! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
