I want to buy some headphones from the Sennheiser B grade outlet site, there corded ones, I would like to use them with my Ipad, Android phone, and occasionally a ipod. they sell the model I like in both android and IOS, what would be the issues if I just bought an android pair, using them with the ipad or ipod, or vice versa buying, or vice versa buying a ios pair., don't really want to buy two pairs.
Thanks

Headphones are not specific to an operating system.
They are generic. A standard pair of headphones will work with all devices, unless you buy them with inline controls, which require a 4-pin plug as opposed to the standard 3-pin.0 -
All the corded ones I have looked at from Sennheiser and Bose list headphones for either ios or Android, in fact the pair I am thinking of buying comes in android or ios option. I just want to be able to listen to the likes of Spotify or Google Music, have no interest in taking or making phone calls with them on. Just wish I could get a pair without a mic and just for listening. Bluetooth is an option, but I've never really had much luck with that. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Most devices be they android phones tablets or PCs use 3.5mm jack sockets for headphones. Probably the most common domestic connector for 'phones these days overtaking the once popular 6.25mm jack that is still used on professional and some larger sized equipment (amongst others).
Apple some time back diverged (as they often do) and some of their devices only have a 'Lightning' connector . The two are not physically compatible.
However adaptors from Lightning to jack are readily available so I would suggest for your needs to buy the 3.5mm jack (so called "android") type an an adaptor. Useful site giving comparisons of adaptors at https://www.macworld.com/article/3127211/iphone-ipad/best-lightning-to-headphone-jack-adapters-iphone.html
Note that it is an American site so just good for general info but the adaptors are widely availabke in the uk too and you might already have one supplied with your apple device!

Thanks, that’s all I wanted to know. I went to Curry’s this morning just to have a look, but afraid salesman wasn’t much help either, just wanted to sell me very expensive Bluetooth ones. I’ll be getting a pair of corded from Sennheiser outlet shop now. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
