I see the Financial Sectors paid help are rallying to try and defend the indefensible. Perhaps if I use a simpler vocabulary.

    Oh grow up.

Still missing the point. The banks are treating small compensation awards relating to switching errrors as a cost of doing business.
You've already said that but haven't made it clear what your actual point is even if that assertion was true. All organisations have to fund the cost of correcting customer issues, whether that's airlines losing luggage or supermarkets refunding mouldy food or retailers exchanging defective electrical goods, etc. In each of these cases and many more, the ultimate problem is likely to be with one of their suppliers, and naturally repeated issues are likely to form part of regular discussions with such suppliers (unseen to the consumer) - I have no reason to suspect that if banks have repeated problems with CASS (as a supplier) that they'd simply ignore them and not seek improvements, so if that's what you're circuitously trying to suggest then it would be helpful to support it with some evidence.

There is a complaint with FOS. They can only investigate the bank and cannot investigate the CASS.
Given that your OP highlighted multiple failings within RBS, on what basis have you convinced yourself that there is actually an issue with CASS itself? What have FOS said so far?

PSR only seek complaint information from CASS, which results in a big tick in the box despite complaints not being passed to CASS by the banks.
It's the banks' responsibility to resolve issues as far as their customer is concerned - if RBS were saying to you "nothing to do with us, it's a CASS issue" and expected you to take it up with CASS then I agree that would be inappropriate, but they're not saying that are they?

If it helps you to understand, I have actually managed to make contact with the PSR and they immediately understood the issue. It would seem that the paid help on here and the organisations creating the issue are the only ones that can't see the issue.
I think you're getting muddled up with what "the issue" really is - are you referring specifically to an actual visible real tangible problem with your switch (which is what normal people in your situation would be interested in), or is this still all the extraneous ill-founded allegations about the structure of the industry?

Problem solved then. Give yourself a promotion to Brigadier, at least.

Thank you for reminding me that I need to chase my Xmas bonus, which the organisations have failed to pay yet again. They're really unreliable payers, with ZH contracts that violate workers rights. Every time I ask they say that they are not responsible. The system is flawed. I don't suppose you would know who to complain to about it?

Well I got all mine, from:
    • RBS
    • All the other banks, except TSB obviously (the cheque's in the post apparently)
    • FOS
    • FCA
    • CASS
    • BACS
    • Vocallink (even they don't know why they got involved)
    • PSR
    • HMRC (thick brown envelope stuffed with used notes)
    • MI5
    • CIA
    • FBI
    • The Illuminati
    • The Rothschilds
    • and a nice package postmarked Tel Aviv.
Meanwhile some other posters will just have to make do with a lifetime supply of Bacofoil, awarded for services to metallic millinery....
