What did the council say when you asked them?0

What does the paperwork state? Can't read it from here.
Not much point asking us lot....0 -
When my parents had a grant, the time period was five years. Can't remember if there was a sliding scale which reduced each year.0

We had a DFG several years ago. There was a clause that if we moved within five years, we had to repay the full amount. Ours was for a wetroom, and we have a Closomat toilet. We still have to inform the council if we move, as they still own the toilet (and pay for servicing, repairs, etc). If we move, they will replace the Closomat with an ordinary toilet, and put the Closomat into our new house.
You will need to speak to the council to check if there is anything such as a Closomat or other equipment that needs to be returned. The council will also be able to tell you whether there is anything to repay. There might be information on your council website. It might be that there is no repayment required due to your mum's needs that now require a care home. It's worth asking.0 -
wont be able to contact local council till next week even then they hard to get through to.but on the paperwork there is a section that says you must live in the dwelling throughout grant period{believe this could be 10 years} or for such shorter period as health will or circumstances permit I have no idea what this means0

Don't worry to much. The system is going to have it anyway. After selling flat the money is going to care home anyway until it runs out and then council will pay. So if council want the grant money back just give it to them.0

im afraid after we have paid off the equity release & all the buying & selling fees & the council have just put a new roof on which we have to pay for there will not be much left .0
