Can I return Amazon item in original packaging if "label free"?

I need to return an item to Amazon. I have been on line and processed it to be a return, and the system has generated a QR label for me to hand in with the returned item at my chosen location (my local Post office.) The instructions say it is a label-free return.
I am returning the item in its original cardboard envelope however the instructions say I should make sure the packaging has no other tracking labels. Amazon have not sent me any tracking labels besides the QR code and their instructions say nothing about attaching this to the package. Just to get it scanned in at the PO.
Do I need to cover up all the original address instructions on the package to prevent it from coming back to me.....how does the system work?

The PO will scan the code and produce the label to stick on the package.
You will need to take any other labels off. In my experience the Amazon labels peel off easily enough to get rid of the original details, even if you don't get the whole label off.0 -
The labels that get printed are exactly the same size as the existing label so I just stick the new one I've the existing one and make sure it's pressed down firmly.0

If you have a parcel with two address labels, two tracking numbers and two QR codes on there is likely to be an issue, or two!
Cover up the originals with brown tape or a black pen or the new label. Surely this is obvious.0 -
Having just returned a couple of parcels using the Amazon print label at the parcel delivery office I couldn't be more impressed. I expected to be fobbed off with printer not working etc excuses but to be honest nothing could be easier. Unfortunately the same can't be said when returning Amazon Market place items where you have to print off you're own returns label.0

I've just returned an item with what I assume is a new system, as I haven't come across it before.
I was given the usual choices and also a Doddle return. No packaging or printing required. Just take it to the local agent (Morrison's Customer service), they scan the e-mailed QR code, take the item and sort it all out.
Refund issued next day. :T0 -

But what if you don't have a scanner or an iphone or whatever this works on? How are you supposed to scan this barcode off the website?
I used to be able to print a label, stick it on the package, put the package in the postbox. Now it's not possible. There's no return label, not even a return address so I could write it myself.
I want to return an item and I have no way to do it because Amazon will not give me an address to send the package to. I believe this is illegal. A company can't offer distance selling without giving customers (ALL customers, not only those with the latest technology) a way to return items.
Does anyone know how I get my statutory rights in this situation? Trading standards or what?0 -

All that, and they can’t work out you could just print the email with the QR code for them to scan in store?
