    Does it cause impulsive spending that you can't control, as this is the issue not the mental health aspect.

    Yes, I do suffer from impulsivity, but I have learnt to be very controlled when it comes to finances. Just saying, it can be done. The OP was specifically looking for people with mental health problems who have experience using credit. They say they find it hard to control 'at times'. Not impossible to control all the time. Same as lots of other people without diagnosed problems.

    OP, if you're anything like me you'll probably have some insight as to when you're becoming more reckless. When this happens, if you have to, you can stick your card in a tub of water and freeze it. This will make it a little harder to recklessly spend on it. Other tips I have used in the past include not saving your card details online, so you have to enter them every time (which reminds you you're spending money) and keeping a detailed tracking of all your spending. (I use a spreadsheet)
