Sorry, there are some things I'm prepared to let my DH trust my judgement about, but where we live ain't one of them!
I'd insist he comes and takes a look. Say there may be little jobs which need doing and you'll want to know if he'll be able to do them, or if there are things which you'll want sorted before you move.
Just be aware that if it's a swap like that, I don't think the council is obliged to fix anything which is bust at the time you move in - you don't get the same rights as if you move into an empty property IYSWIM. Check that with your HO. That means that if, say, a window gets broken as the previous people are moving out, you'd have to fix it yourselves.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Go for a walk around the area, it will give you a feel for the place.
Have a look at the houses either side, try and see what the neighbours might be like - do they have kids etc - you can tell a lot about someone from their garden.....do thy appear to take pride in it or is it a complete tip?
Make sure your partner goes with you though, that way if the worst case scenario should happen, then he can't blame you for moving there.
Good LuckLearn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. :cheesy:0
