That's the thing, I think you misread my previous post, I did have the wheel off about 3 weeks ago, I had it on the dining room table (much to the wifes disgust!) and it was immaculate (spend about 30 mins cleaning and waxing and was very...intimate with it). So it's definitely happened within the last few weeks, and happened simultaneously on all 4 wheels.

Silly question, but if its solvent pop isn't this by definition a failure of the paint? There's a 2 year warranty, what else would it be for?

Yeah I could get them refurbed but I shouldn't have to be refurbring new alloys after 18 months surely?
Then I suggest you take your car down to the guys who refurbished them and claim off their warranty.

He bought them new off a supplier who offers a 2 year warranty.

OP the faint has failed, and a likely scenario in a warranty claim is that you used an acidic type of cleaner and deny your claim being only a couple months from when the warranty expires. The warranty also has some impossible terms and conditions to stick to like using expensive sealers on them to protect them from the elements or washed every 2 weeks etc you would have to read it, but I wouldn't waste my time I'd get them in and have them painted or leave them. DONT SAND THEM!! you'll make it worse.
