Parcelforce van damages wall of my front garden; how to proceed?

Options
Had amazon delivery yesterday.

Large van reversed into driveway knocking out part of a garden wall.

How to proceed?

I have it on CCTV so there is no doubt about culpability.

Would rather not go through my home insurance but maybe that’s the only way?

Advice gratefully accepted

I'd contact Parcelforce; if it didn't get rectified then I'd get it repaired and try to recoup it in the small claims court.
  • Did the driver stop and tell you what happened or did they simply drive away? and did it look like the impact was something that the driver would have noticed at the time?
  • No and yes

Get some quotes, have the work done, send them the bill along with the evidence.

I doubt you'll have any trouble getting them to pay, they won't want the expense of legal action.

feedback. Chap from PF came round, viewed CCTV and accepted.

I sent them a quote. It was a modest sum.

They offered part payment as a goodwill gesture.

I refused. Brought up CCTV, cheque for full amount arrived. All sorted

A goodwill gesture? The cheek! I would have thought crashing into someone's wall with your vehicle then making off hoping that nobody notices was some kind of criminal offence.

It is, if they fail to provide their details to the injured party or make a police report within 24 hours.

As above, I'd report incident to police, driver needs prosecuting.

    Why bother the police?

They can't do anything the time for prosecution ran out in June.

Didn't realise it was on old resurrected thread.
