app-based banking & BREXIT

Seems like most of the app-only banks (Revolut, Monzo, Starling...) are UK registered(?)

How could Brexit (hard/soft/no deal) impact their services?

I'm a Brit but, live in Switzerland and bank in the UK, Switzerland & Germany
thx

  • I would imagine that there would be no change for those living and using these apps in the UK - as for how those living outside the UK will be affected remains to be seen. I'm not 100% up-to-date on the state of play with regards to financial services and the passporting issues.
  • It won't.

On what basis do you say this?

My erstwhile employer has just re-registered and relocated its UK domiciled bank to Dublin along with several hundred jobs, including my team's.

    So it's not fear-mongering.

You'll simply be a non-UK resident with no FoM rights to rely on.

As Switzerland is neither in the EU or EEA, Auld Craw May will be making lots of desperate deals with tier 2 countries such as Switzerland anyway.

    Tally-ho..!

Because they were scared into doing it by the media and press?

The 'scare tactics' and.'project fear' lines are about all the fundamentalist Brexiteers have left in their denial of the realities before their eyes.

Yeah. That's how business Executives make their decisions. They read the Press and listen to the News and then change their strategies accordingly. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
