Ripped a CD and windows media player didn't recognise the album title. Is there an alternative I could use that would recognise the title ?
If it helps the album is the new Fleetwood Mac album.

Tried Exact Audio Copy?
iTunes would be an obvious one.
Currently looking at creating a library of all my audio and video files and Exact Audio Copy for lossless files was one that came heavily recommended to me.0 -
CDex ... it links with CDDB (or equivalent) to get album and track details.0

Id like to stay clear of iTunes to be honest.
Ive always used Windows, this time its just failed me.
I transfer it to a usb drive for use in the car.
Ill give Exact copy audio a try.0 -
I use Free RIP (http://freerip.com/) to transfer CDs to an SD card for use in the car, it works great and looks up album/track info too.0

All the rippers get the data from external databases such as Gracenote. The databases get populated by uploads from the ripping software, so someone - somewhere - has to manually input the data in to start the process.
If everyone with the new Fleetwood Mac is waiting for everyone else to do this, nobody will ever get the data to download.
Do your bit for the ripping community, input the tracks etc. manually and let others reap the benefit of your work0 -

Pretty much all CD ripping software will have an option to look up the music data. Just try any other ripping software you like.0 -
Did you try the 'Get album info' tab in media player before copying? That usually fetches all the data for tracks and titles.0
