New Toilet - Looking for a good flush

I'm looking to buy a new toilet (close-couple toilet for the downstairs cloakroom) that has a good flush and will get rid of waste first time!
I've looked at so many catalogues and websites but just wish there was a simple way to find a toilet that, sorry to be graphic, is really effective in getting rid of waste. I just wish there was some sort of rating system to help compare models and brands.
I'd be grateful for any recommendations and buying tips, please.

Buy a 1960's one from ebay. They had bigger tanks back in the day.0

The cisterns are designed to hold less these days to conserve water.
The high level cisterns have gravity to assist the water flushing through.
I have a client who is pleased with this one:

Ironically it's in the gardener's loo.
The cloakroom has a similar but very expensive one from CP Hart and they hate it. It has a special flush that is supposed to help, but hinders.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If this is in response to inadequate flush performance at the moment are you sure the trap and drain are clear?0

I'm happy that everything is clear etc, thanks.
Hopefully this isn't just me, but experience tells me that some toilets are just better at disposing of waste. I suspect there are probably several factors in addition to the amount of water in the flush - factors such as the shape of the bowl, the diameter and design of the S bend, whether water is flushed around all or just some of the bowl etc. Again, sorry to be graphic, but some toilets just seem more effective than others.
I'm really just looking for something that works first time, every time - this will be the toilet in the house which will get most use and which will be used by visitors etc . I just don't want to make a mistake purchase as toilets aren't the sort of thing you replace every day.
Thanks,

This one I own and is a clean flusher, but needs a quality seat.
Maybe this?: -

On the same page, this is highly rated by others: -

I wonder how the testing was performed before the new regulations regarding capacity came into force.
Because I have a 5 year old who does poos that invariably require a double flush.0 -
I got a low volume flush single piece from wickes ideal for a cloakroom.
Handled decent sized logs and modern floating paper.
edit:
looks like they don't do them any more.
great one piece with a removable softclose lid around £100
so easy to clean.0 -
You'll be lucky, let me know if you find one.
I searched everywhere before I bought the one I'm lumbered with, but the best I've been able to do is to train myself to use less paper.
My water consumption went up after I got the water saving loo as a result of all the repeat flushing, up to four times on some occasions.0 -
I had never thought of Scewfix and I think I will go for the model in Moss5's final link as the reviews are so much better than anything else I've seen.
Moss5, sorry for not quoting your message here but I am prevented from doing so (I am a new member of these forums and can't quote a message containg hyperlinks until I have served a probationery period!)0
