What compensation did you pay them for not paying back what you borrowed?

I can see why they have little interest in bending over backwards to help if you fidn’t honour their deal.

Maybe they decided to do what you did, offer a deal then just decide to change their mind afterwards. That would seem fair to most people I think. Karma some call it.

Full and final settlement is a well established method of dealing with your debts, the OP`s credit file should of been updated to reflect this, the creditor did not have to accept the deal, but like most things in life, a compromise was reached.

The circumstances which necessitated such a settlement are not privy to me, nor are they to you, however people do not normally enter credit agreements with the certain intention of defaulting, i expect the OP had his reasons for the change in his fortunes, and was simply doing what any of us would do in similar circumstances.

Incorrect reporting on a credit file does not necessitate compensation pursay, but would be seem more as a goodwill gesture.

  • Think you've run off the beaten track there my son.

I paid back 36% compensation, if you really want to get technical, £500 over what I originally owed the company.

AS I SAID! (Giving it a bit of a Martins IN FULL here.)

I , Michael, and said company "HELLix" came to an agreement, I then stuck to my side of the agreement, HELLix, did not.

I counter offered an offer I was initially made, and didn't succeed, so I then paid the offer they made me, but added one or two of my own terms, NOW, HELLix didn't stick to the agreement we made, therefore, the money that I SHOULDN'T of owed, I still owed.

I can try make this more clear for you...I originally owed £193.00, I made an offer of £150 (I find very fair), HELLix said no, £193.00 is the best offer-But also offered to get all defaults removed from my account (We both agreed to), providing I pay by 7pm that working day, I paid, HELLix DID NOT inform the original company who I owed money to that I had paid the money, LOW AND BEHOLD, 3 months down the line, I still "OWE" money, even though I paid SAID MONEY.

Hope that is a little more clear for you.

I cant understand what you think the problem is.

On first reading, I started off thinking you meant you'd paid up the settlement, but they'd lost the record of it and might be still demanding more money

But reading again more carefully, you say they have tracked it.

If it drops off your credit record in a few days from now, surely that's the cleaner sheet you've been looking forward to. Forget about it.

Compensation is supposed to be about restoring someone's losses. It isn't clear you have any. If you've failed in some credit applications recently it's most likely from the presence of the default in the first place, rather than the last few months.

That's exactly what i'm saying, they lost record of it (AKA not updating when they should of).

Only until I called to see what happened, they then forwarded the correct details to the original company.

I was informed by original company that they had updated them on 13/12/18, when it should of been done 26/9/18.

So yes, HELLix are to blame.
