GP's are gatekeepers in these situations, they refer you to MH services and they do nothing either, you have to see it to believe it

Well they actually do in your comment, they referred on

    They will either
    a) Offer counselling
    b) Offer medication
    c) sign post to services such as CAB/ Shelter if applicable
    d)Refer on if applicable

all in 10 mins, not sure they can do much more to be honest. I would like to see you do all that in 10 mins while trying to make sure your patient you listen to you patient and do all the associated admin with it and trying to stay on time

    Because it's not really relevant.

If the OP has a financial claim, then it'll be within the small claim track - just launch a moneyclaim. The fee is trivial.

If the claim is for something else, then... <shrug>

It isn't the doctor's or the MH services fault, it is lack of time, lack of funding, lack of training. The mental health services are in a mess

  • I have never used a solicitor before but have seen a free one from the Law Society who said I had a very good case.

My problem is funds, I assume that I would need to keep paying money upfront, if that is the case then I can't sue, which is frustrating as I was put through hell, you wouldn't believe the insane things done to me. To let this person get away with it is the worst part.

I have tried to find representation on a no win no fee basis, but it is not available for this type of case.

So rather than spend hundreds asking a solicitor, does anyone here know if it would definitely cost me thousands up front, or would it be some up front then the most after the case is finished?

If you can't find a "no win, no fee" option, then yes it will cost a considerable amount up front. There is also no guarantee of success, which may introduce more stress into your life, which you would clearly want to avoid. The choice is yours, but it may be in your best interest to take a lesson from your experience and move on.

I take it landlord did the place up and either sold it or got new tenants in. Otherwise you have got yourself a new house to live In.
