A Judgment has been entered against you.

‘ If he finds for the Defendant, the claim is dismissed, and you have nothing to pay. You can also ask the Judge to award your costs, which are max £95 for lost earnings, return mileage to court at 45p per mile, and parking. Payment is normally due within 14 days, so if you have to pay, make sure you do that and nothing will appear on your credit file.”

You have a ccj. It's a judgement after all. Paying promptly means that for all intents and purposes it no longer exists and doesn't show up.
It's recorded but the record doesn't "go live" until after the time to pay. Paying ensures it never "goes live".
That's the best way I can think of explaining it.0 -
Phewwww. *wipes forehead*0

Make sure you get a receipt and the court knows you have paid. Claimants often don't bother once they have the money leaving you having paid and a ccj.0

Jesus really? I have a receipt. I will let the court know.
Thanks for the clarification and heads up.0 -
So I payed my fine on the 12/18. I thought I’d double check with the county court business centre to see that it had been recorded. It hasn’t and won’t be recorded until the new year. So I essentially have a CCJ against me which is awful timing as I’m in the process of getting a mortgage. My own fault really as I should have just got organised in the first place and prepared my defence on time or payed it.
I thought I’d let you all know so you can alter your advise accordingly on the below court claim procedure. If I’d have know I’d have a CCJ I just would have payed the poxy fine.
Thanks

What did you think you'd get from a county court? a hug??0 -
I could certainly do with a hug right now. No I was expecting 14 days to pay without anything on my credit file. See advise in the. Our claim procedure “Payment is normally due within 14 days, so if you have to pay, make sure you do that and nothing will appear on your credit file“
I’m aware it’s my own fault in the first place but as I said earlier I’m the post best to let all you experts know so you can advise accordingly.

It varies depending on what the court orders. 14 is possible, as is 28; or even a payment plan.
What you have to understand is that court orders aren't generic - they mostly follow a pattern, but there are exceptions.
I'm confused - it's not clear. When was the order made? When did you pay?0 -
The order was made on the 12th of this month. I payed the next day. I payed the claiment direct (Gladstone’s). But I wasn’t aware I’d have a CCJ on record stright away, maybe I just misinterpreted the initial advise? I thought it would not show up on my credit file if I payed it. The business court advised differently. I will download a credit report later and double check.
