Hi, Please help I'm pulling what hair I have left out trying to sort this out. I'm an amateur at this although fairly reasonable with PC's in general.
I'm trying to put my family camcorder tapes on a DVD that will play in any DVD machine and I have got a certain way but I am now stuck.
I have a Sony camcorder with I think it has digital tapes and it uses firewire. I found some software to get it on to my PC. Then I found out my old favourite software was no longer in Windows 10 so I Googled and found I could download Windows Movie Maker still which I did and made my movie which has created a MP4 file.
But all the free software I found after that, all leaves watermarks. I believe I need to convert and burn the created files to a DVD.
I have a 7.7GB file but when I used one of the watermark programs it seemed to create a file of about 4.4GB which obviously would fit. I didn't go ahead due to the watermark.
Is there any free non watermark software I can download to make my DVD's that will play on a DVD machine.
I don't really want to go too deep or spend any money as I have about 15 tapes to do and then I probably wont burn anything again for another 10 years or maybe ever.
Ideally software that converts and burns to make a suitable DVD is what I need. I thought I would easily find it on the net but I'm exhausted with all the supposed free software that I have downloaded and uninstalled as it has a watermark on the free version.
It doesnt seem that Windows 10 comes with any burning/converting software. WMMaker doesnt seem to have it either (nothing about burning DVD's in the program that I can find).
Any advice or help appreciated.

I'm a bit out of touch recently with this but if you google 'mp4 to iso' you might find something. Windows 10 will then natively burn an iso to dvd which should play in a dvd player
I think DVDfab (free trial) has a 'creator' tool that can convert to .iso also0 -
It sounds like you may need up to 3 different products to do what you want.
- One to convert the incoming video to a usable format.
- One to edit the content.
- One to burn it to DVD.
For the latter, there are some recommendations here: https://www.techradar.com/uk/best/the-best-free-dvd-burner
For editing, I like Davinci Resolve which has a free version that is still very powerful.

Not sure about conversion from camcorder tapes, but it sounds like you may already have that sorted.0 -
Not used it for ages but ConvertXtoDVD will do it.
7 days FULL TrialIs there a functional difference between the trial and the registered version?
During a limited time (typically 7 days), there will be no functionnal difference from the registered version, except some popup to remind that the software is in unlimited trial mode for a limited time. This unlimited trial period start from the 1st use of the software on a given computer, and requires an Internet connection. Once this fully featured trial period is over, or if no internet connection is available, several limitations will be introduced, such as limitation of output duration, video watermark, ... The unlimited trial period doesn't reset / restart when re-installing or updating the software. We highly recommend to use the unlimited trial period to extensively test the software before you buy, to make sure your hardware is compatible with the product you want to obtain.
You will probably need to use dual layer DVDs for file size you have.0 -
My last two DVD players both supported MP4, and played the off USB. They were bottom of the range models too. The newer would be about 15 years old by now - gave it away 5 years ago, and had trouble finding someone to take it.0

DVD recorders can be had for buttons on eBay these days.
Why not skip the mp4 conversion process, just get a DVD recorder and connecting lead to go between camcorder and recorder, and just make the DVD direct from the tape?0
