Rejected Appeal - SIP Carparks

Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice please. This weekend I parked at a SIP car park in Manchester. I paid using the website PayByPhone.co.uk as I always do when in Manchester. However, it autofills to my licence plate and I forgot to change it as we were in my partners car. So the parking session was actually paid for. In fact, we paid for more time than we needed and my car didn't enter the car park that day.

However, after supplying the company with all the information and evidence of the same they have rejected my appeal on the basis:

"As the session was purchased for a different vehicle, there was no valid parking session for the vehicle parked on that day. As the vehicle had no valid session, the charge was issued correctly".

They now wish me to pay a further £60 (£100 if I appeal further) after already paying the £6 for the parking.

I plan to appeal this decision through the IAS but would I be correct in thinking that:
  1. this was a genuine mistake and the ticket is unfair (feel like a child writing that but think I have read this is grounds for appeal)
  2. the amount requested in unfair and unjustified given that they hadn't actually lost any money as a result of us parking there as we did pay for the session.
Has anyone else had a situation like this or any advice on how I can win this appeal?

Thanks

Grounds for appeal - yes, likely to win - not a chance.
    2. the amount requested in unfair and unjustified given that they hadn't actually lost any money as a result of us parking there as we did pay for the session.
A Judge would be interested and make a decision. The IAS will likely quote Beavis at you as the reason that this argument is dismissed.
any advice on how I can win this appeal?
There is no such advice available, it's all but impossible to win an IAS appeal.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
