CHIP direct debits over Christmas

Wasn't sure whether this was best on this board or in the savings board, so I put it in here knowing that people only use CHIP as a useful source of direct debits to maintain their current accounts.
I received this email from them earlier:-

Hi Beautiful People,

We have had a huge year at Chip which culminated in the £4m record-breaking investment round in November. rocket

Since then we have been planning how best to use the funds we have raised and we believe that 2019 will be the biggest year on the Chip journey so far...but we need to do a couple of tweaks before we can deliver Chip 2.0 across the board.

Below, I have outlined our plans for maintenance and upgrades over Christmas - we are making the changes over the festive period as we anticipate January to be the busiest month of the year for our savings app!

From Friday 14th December we will be changing our save provider - the mechanism that transfers money from your bank account to your Chip account.

This means you will not be able to manual save and no autosaves will be processed from Friday 14th December until Wednesday 2nd January.

You will be able to withdraw over the period and this may take a couple of days to process, as usual.

Live Chat will be online until the 21st December and will reopen on the 2nd January.

We are sorry for the inconvenience but hope you understand it will make your app better! iphonecalling

We will be in touch later in the week to remind you again of the timeframe.

Until then, please don’t hesitate to come through Live Chat or email hello@getchip.uk if you have any queries or issues.

We will be in touch soon,

Could be an issue for those who use the weekly direct debit for their Tesco or Co-Op current accounts....
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?
