I applied to switch to the CEC exclusive Green Network Energy 2Yr fix on 28th November. Another provider has recently come out with a cheaper fix, so I called GNE on 10th December to cancel the switch and received an email a few minutes later confirming the cancellation. I then sent an email to CEC to ask them to remove the 'Switch in progress' status from my account so that I can switch to another provider, but I have not yet received a reply. I was wondering if there's another way to contact them for a quicker response? I'm obviously keen to get the block lifted ASAP so I can switch to the other provider before they potentially withdraw the tariff! Thanks.

The only methoid of contact the MSE CEC gives is via email

You can make an application to switch any way you like. there are plenty of alternative comparison sites to choose from (some of which may pay even more cashback than MSE) or you can request the switch direct to the new supplier.

You can update your CEC account later, after the current issue is addressed by them.

I'm beginning to panic, I just checked and the new tariff I want to switch is no longer listed on the supplier's website, it has been replaced with another new tariff. Having checked several comparison sites, CEC, CTM and MS are the only sites still listing the older tariff, the other comparison sites now show the new tariff. CTM and MS aren't offering any cashback on the switch but I'd still be £75 better off than if they remove the tariff I want to switch to, so I'm probably best being safe and going for it while the tariff is still there.

If you know the tariff is no longer available from the suppliers website, as it has been replaced, I wouldn't hold out any hope of getting the old tariff from an out of date comparison site.

Its the supplier that will eventually supply you, not the comparison site.

Agree a site listing does not mean its still a tariff thats current .
If the supplier does not notify then dont blame a comparison site.
What could happen is that you go via comparison site for this old tariff . Sign up they forward to the energy company who reject it as no longer valid .Wasting a probable week .
