Which check in desk?!

Hi,
This is probably a stupid question to seasoned travelers but I’ve only ever flown with budget airlines to Europe.
I’ve booked a flight from Heathrow Terminal 2 to New York through an online travel agent. My info says my flight is with Austrian Airlines, operated by United.
So which desk do I check in with at the airport? Austrian Airlines or United? The flight number I’ve been given is an Austrian Airlines number so I’m assuming I go to their desk, but don’t want to mess it up and get in the wrong queue for ages!!
Thanks

"Operated by United" is a clue, I would be 99.99999% sure that Austrian Airlines dont operate a London to NY route themselves.
You will have a Austrian Airlines flight number because it will be a codeshare flight, the same flight will probably have about 6 or 7 flight numbers. It is, however, a United flight. So go to their desk.
Case in point:
This flight about to leave Heathrow has 6 flight numbers (including an Iberia and a BA one) but is operated by American.0 -
Brilliant! Thank you, that saved me wandering around Heathrow being completely clueless!!!0

If your flight is direct go to the United desk, if it is via Vienna go to Austrian.Evolution, not revolution0
-
"Operated by United" = to the United check-in desks.0

If all else fails there are normally people near the entrance to the check in desks you can confirm that you need to be at the united desks or somewhere else...Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada  :dance:0

+1, go to the United desks. T2 is pretty easy to navigate, so you shouldn't get too lost pre-security.
Once you're airside, keep in mind that it can be a 10-15 minute walk to the gates United use for long-haul. They're in a satellite building (terminal 2B), so you have to go down a long escalator, walk through a tunnel, and then back up to the 'B' gates.
It's all well-signposted and straightforward so I'm sure you'll be fine!0 -
As you enter the terminal just look at the large information screens, usually above you - as you know the flight number and departure time, it will be clearly shown which area to go to to check in.
Certain to be United.0
