Halifax CC fraud - your complaint experience?

IMO you'll almost certainly win this when escalated to the FOS (based on what you've said). It may take a while though unfortunately. Make sure your complaint is clear and points out all the relevant facts.
Regarding credit cards, even if you had been negligent with your PIN or card I believe you can only be held liable for £50 of losses (under most circumstances anyway).
If successful you'll get a full refund including any interest paid. Make sure you keep paying the minimum payments in the mean time though.
Thank you.
Yes, ActionFraud told me the same thing as well, that I'm only held liable for the first £50 under the Consumer Credit Act, not the full amount as Halifax claims.
Ironically when I was at the branch today and the branch manager escalated to a higher up in the fraud department, he suggested that i've been watched for a while and the security system is not that difficult to pass if the fraudster have enough information. Despite this manager admits that there's a flaw in their system, still no money back! But i have all the accurate time and locations of these transactions now and majority of these, like I said before, I was out of town and I have proof. It's up to the police to liaise with them now.
I'll be harassing them everyday until this is resolved. FOS will be next if Halifax deadlock final response is still a no. After that, Watchdog, social media campaign, don't care if it takes 5 years. The best and worst quality about me is that I'm relentless and I don't give up easily especially I'm innocent here!0 -
Halifax security is none existent, they allowed three charges to be made on my card for £67 in Spain, one being mine, chip and pin, the other 2 being contactless. They still say that the max is 20 or 30e.
They are a shambles.
Lloyds security got my money back.

Couple of months ago, I had a transaction I was not aware of, contacted them, they sending me a form to complete.
Then 2 days later, auto message saying do I authorise this transaction - yes, this one - yes, this one - no!
Got through to them, asked if I had just rang them, said no, someone phoned 10 mins ago pretending to be me but failed the security questions.
Asked a new of questions based on credit report or something, card cancelled, new one issued.
The 2 unknown transactions were cancelled out.0 -

Please, OP. Do NOT harass anyone. It won't speed anything up. It won't achieve a better outcome to that which you would've got anyway. Above all: do NOT now add insult to injury -- insult, because the effort and the stress incurred in 'harassing' is an insult to your usual commonsense, and injury, that which you have already received to your pride, your wallet, and your intelligence.
The thief has robbed you of monies. Why let the thief now rob you of your time -- not to mention the equilibrium of your blood pressure??? You have set the wheels in motion. Sit back and wait for them to finish spinning -- one month, at least.
PS: as for 'Watchdog', please remember it is a branch of BBC Entertainment. It is not a news channel operation.0
