Have SSE changed their bank account or is it a scam?
I received an e-mail from SSE a few months ago saying they had changed their bank account and I would need to update my payment details. It certainly seemed genuine and a link took me to their website, but I did not do anything just in case it was a scam.
Now the bill has arrived and it does not mention paying into a different account. I have paid the bill from their website, but I just wondered if anyone knew if they have genuinely changed bank account or if is some low life trying a scam, not that I think he would make a great deal of money with a few electricity bill payments.

We are with SSE and haven't received an email notifying us of a change.
To be honest, I never follow links in emails in case it is a scam.0 -

That is the number and sort code which was stated on the e-mail, but when I downloaded my latest bill, at the end it gave the old bank account details to pay, so I am still confused!0 -
Hi yes this is all about the seperation of domestic energy from the rest of sse to merge with npower. It used to be 57 17 57 as the sort code and 8 zeros for the account number. The details sent out above are correct for the new set up0
