Changing name with Land Registry

Hi,
I've recently got married and I'm going through the process of changing my surname on everything and I read that it's important that you change your name on your house deeds. On the HM Land Registry they say that to do this you have to complete an AP1 form and send it along with your marriage certificate. The problem is I am really struggling with filling in the form! I don't understand any of where I put my old name, where I put my new name - I've read their guidance on filling in the form but I'm still very confused. For something that must be a common occurrence, I feel like I must be missing something?
How did everyone else go about changing their name on their house deeds? Or have most people not bothered?
Thanks!

I am also really struggling with that form, did you ever figure out parts to fill in? Also, did you fill in the ID1 form too - I can't work out if that is for all name changes or if it's not required if you are sending in a official marriage certificate.0

There's really no need. You can deal with it next time you remortgage or sell. Who's saying it's important, and why?0

I didn't bother changing my name with the Land Registry. When I came to sell the solicitor wanted to see my marriage certificate as all my ID was in my married name and that was that. My new property (bought 18 months ago) is registered in my married name.0
