House purchasing enquiry re grant for disabled home improvements

Good morning all.
First post, so hopefully this is in the right place and i don't do anything wrong!
We are almost at the end of our house selling/buying process.
To give some background we are in a 3 house chain, with my current house in the middle (Sycamore).
My buyers are ready to complete and put forward a date of today (11/12/18). We asked for Friday (14/12/18) just to make it easier moving with the weekend. We found out on Friday that the end of the chain (not the house i'm buying (Booker), the house Booker's current owners are buying, which coincidentally has no forward chain) are still waiting for one final enquiry (after telling us they were ready and asking for completion dates).
This enquiry is in regards to a ramp that has been fitted on the front of the property through a grant for disabled home improvements, and is to ensure there will be no repercussions on the buyers regarding this grant in the future.
My question is has anyone experienced any similar enquiries and can give us an indication of timescales for them to receive the info they are looking for?
All 3 parties in the chain are desperately hoping to move pre-Christmas, and our solicitors seem unable to give us any estimation of timescales. Although i understand they don't want to put their name to a timescale, equally we have been given 2 completion dates so far and keep getting pushed back. I just want to know whether to put my Christmas tree up!
Any advice or experience in this is most welcome!
