Greenstar Estimated Final Bill

Hello All
I've posted in energy forum but would be interested in similar experiences.

I'll keep this brief.

Moved out of a rented house 23rd Oct (tenancy end date).
Final readings for gas and electricity taken by me and letting agent
Sent to Green star energy by me a day later.
Landlord initiated change of supplier before tenancy end date ( i had no idea but legal apparently)
New supplier from 24th October, Spark energy
Green star final bill arrived 6 weeks later with Estimated readings, much higher than actual and want me to pay the bill.

I have complained and they say its within industry tolerance blah blah and i have to pay. They have also contradicted themselves and said the estimated readings on my final bill were provided by Spark Energy (new tenant opening reading 24th October)

I am happy to pay for what i used and not a penny more, what are my options? Why should i be resolving this rather than the landlord who changed supplier and caused this mess.

    Oh good grief!

Write to them with the move out reading and refer to the same meter reading you gave them before. Enclose the letting agent's confirmation of the reading.
Askfor a final bill based on those readings.

If that does not work, refer to the ombudsman.

Sounds like the landlord gave himself some free electricity tut tut. Hope you get a good result
