New Huawei hg 633 from talktalk-can I use old password?

Hi folks,

I have just changed my Talktalk Huawei hg635 to a Huawei hg633 router.

Just wondering is it possible to change the wireless password on new router to old password for the older model, so that I don't have to re-configure all my devices, putting in new wireless password?

Yes you can, of course you also need to change the SSID to be the same

Some smart-alec devices will know its a different network despite using the same SSID, password and settings, so for these you will still need to manually reconnect. Most devices though won't be any the wiser.

Always change the router SSID and password, saves having to change all the devices connected to it.

Everything just assumes its the same router.
