I have a baxi neta-tec boiler. What is the ideal temp for
1. Radiators
2. Hot water.
My radiators sometimes come on for no apparent reason !??(its not -5 degrees).
I have a 2 bed terraced house. I turn the dial to the 'Sun' symbol on my wireless thermostat if I want to turn the heating on. Then turn off after bout an hour or 2 as the house is usually toasty. What do I set the main boiler temps to?
And if the main boiiler temp is set to 60/70, why does the wireless thermostat only need to be 18/19/20/21/22? I dont understand.

There are at least 4 settings that influence the operation of the boiler , heating and hot water.
The wireless stat setting is an ambient temperature in the location where it is placed. ie. The temperature in the room. So typically 20, 21 or 22 degC may be the normal setting. If the temperature drops below this setting a signal is sent to the boiler to circulate water to the radiators.
The Boiler temperature setting is the temperature control in the boiler for the water that is being pumped to / from the radiators. Typically going into winter a setting of 75 degC is normal,, and reducing it to 65 in spring / autumn.
The hot water temperature setting is for the water coming out of your hot taps. Typically this should be at least 50 degC.
Finally, the programmer will have a timeclock. During On period the heating will run if the wireless stat calls for it. During Off the heating will remain Off. Some programmable controllers do not switch On and Off, but vary the setting for the room thermostat. In this case 3 or 4 settings have to be used, with say 10 degC being the Off setting.0 -

You need to get details of the wireless thermostat / programmer, download a copy of the manual, and then check the settings, and adjust them to suit your requirements. It then depends on your lifestyle whether using the Auto features or using the Manual settings is best.0 -
Is this your thermostat / programmer ?

If it is there is a normal temperature setting (the sun icon) which would be 20 - 21 - 22
Then there is a setback temperature setting (the moon icon) which would be 16 - 17 - 18
Finally a frost setting which 6 - 7 - 8
A daily programme can be set with each hour either having the normal or setback setting. The display shows the space temperature, the status (sun or moon icon) and the daily programme. Iin Auto one of the buttons allow a manual override, and a boost period to be set.0
