Insurance and David Wilson Homes

My Brother and Sister in Law have just purchased a new home through David Wilson in Ashbourne. To speed up the process they were advised to use their Solicitor and Mortgage Provider, which they did.
The Mortgage has all been accepted and they are due to complete this month.
However, the mortgage provider now tells them that they have to do the buildings, contents and life cover through the mortgage advisor. She keeps pressuring them to do this and can find the cover much cheaper online.
They can't see anywhere within the contract where this is mandatory, but it does say that David Wilson may introduce a mortgage adviser who can help and that David Wilson may receive a fee for doing this.
Are David Wilson just trying to captilise on a house sale? Thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

Its wrong in a way, we've had it recently with Estate Agents. They would prioritise our viewing if we used their Mortgage Advisers.0

When we purchased our new build property, we used an independent mortgage broker & solicitor local to us, rather than the house builder's recommended one.
It is not possible to "force" you to use certain services (i.e., the sale cannot depend on your doing so), however often benefits are offered such as fast-tracking of paperwork etc.0
