Mobile Phones Direct - increased price after order

Is anyone else having issues with this company?
I ordered a contract for £37 with them the Sunday after Black Friday. It didn't complete until about 12 days later - that was fine I completely expected that. I'm also lucky to have received it as there are plenty of customers still waiting.
I have just seen that Vodafone have my contract at £73 NOT £37. Vodafone informed that they can do nothing and I have to contact MPD. MPD do not have an email address, they only have a phone number which is charged at 55p per minute and wait times of over an hour.
I have made a complaint via the resolver tool but MPD are not signed up to the Ombudsman Service so it may be a waste of time.
Is there any way I can cancel the contract or something without having to be on the phone for over an hour and incurring a phone bill of at least £33?
Also what would happen if I blocked the direct debit?

To my knowledge, an 0345 number should not be costing 55p per minute. Companies are breaking the law if they don't provide a standard geographic rate phone number.0 -
Use weq4u app when calling or find a freephone number.0

https://twitter.com/MPD_Online worth a try, most companies don't like adverse tweets and sort them.
Plus how do they not have an email when they say they will contact you by email?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
In their T&Cs they have the email address webshop@mobilephonesdirect.co.uk as a contact method for cancelling a contract0

You've been a member of this forum for 7 years and still think people will look in the T&Cs?0 -
It was Vodafone who told me it would cost 55p per minute.
I did find the email once I asked on Twitter (they do not respond via Twitter but they do seem too on trustpilot) and there is at least a 3 day turnaround on emails.0 -
Mobile Phones Direct are members of the Retail Ombudsman scheme.0
