Ok, Am I right in thinking that any coupons/vouchers that I may come across can be used at Asda in store even if I havent purchased any of the products in which the coupons/vouchers are for??
I did a quick search on this forum but couldnt find anything for Asda, but I apologise if there is something.
Thanks

I believe so as long as they stock the particular product, they usually allow 10% of the bill in coupons
Good Luck :j0 -
I have been told to go for the young men as they don't care. They are just making some money while at college. So they don't care as much as some of the others for whom it is more long term job than short term.
Also best not to make an issue. Just hand them over while paying and keep putting your shopping away. They will either scan them or hand them back.
I know rather rich coming from me when I make hubby hand them over and I run away from the till. :rotfl:

Asda seem terribly inconsistent in their policies - so be warned if you find refusal embarrassing!0

The only store which readily accepts vouchers regardless of the sex or the age of the cashier is Waitrose, unlike it bigger rivals the staff treat customers consistently with regards to policy.
As some of the previous e-mailers have stated some of the staff at Asda take coupons whilst others may not in the same store- although I have seen staff members hand over coupons for shopping and accepted readily by a cashier who refused my coupons only a few weeks prior.
Hope this helps0 -
Does Waitrose just take manufacturers' vouchers or other supermarkets' ones as well?0

I emailed Asda customer services with the same question this morning, so, will post it here when I get a reply."And crawling on the planet's face,

You wont get a good answer from Asda - as I have said, the application of the policy varies from store to store - in some it will be like getting blood out of a stone, even with an email from head office in your hands.
I am currently complaining to asda about an overcharge. One member of staff swears that she didnt have to give me a £2 voucher (even though I found it on the website and offered to print her a copy!). I did get a voucher the next day from her colleague. I was then stunned to get the same overcharge a fortnight later. They must have overcharged hundreds of people. It clearly wasnt in there interest to correct the price! I have emailed and complained so I will now write a letter. Which body (Trading Standards/OFT etc) would be interested if Asda were deliberately not correcting overcharges if I feel like escalating my complaint? Any ideas?0 -
Asda,The Jewel,Edinburgh accept all vouchers/coupons except ones printed of the internet. Before I started handing over any vouchers I asked at customer services. I now use £10-£12 in coupons(mainly Somerfield ones) every week on roughly £85 shop. I have purchased non grocery items to the value of £17 and handed over £8 in coupons. The assistant often has to ask if they take the coupons but they have noy been refused as yet. I hand over the coupons saying can you see which ones of these you take. There have often been duplicates amongst them.
I think that they are meant to stock the items but I think often they dont but the coupon still scans.
So Michaela,nothing ventured...nothing gained..:j0 -
Reply from ASDA Customer Services.............Regarding our coupon/voucher acceptance policy, We would match any like for
like offer with Tesco or any other supermarket, however we do have a Coupon
Policy which is inline with other retailers and this is 10 - 15% of your
overall bill, depending on the stores discretion.
Our Voucher Policy does work on the same lines as Tesco for example, e.g.
if Tesco offers a £10 voucher off £50 that we would match this offer. We
would not accept 100% coupons and vouchers for payment of goods.
Bulk redemption is down to the discretion of the store so if a customer
wants to pay for their entire shopping with coupons this can be refused.
Once again, thank you for contacting us with your query; as customer
satisfaction is our highest priority, we appreciate customer comments and
feedback.
Yours Sincerely
