How to save money on diesel?

The route I think I will look into is reward schemes e.g. Tesco clubcard and possibly a cash back credit card, I'm a bit reluctant to use credit cards as I've never had one and probably need to do further research before I apply
I have a cashback card (0.5%) and use either nectar card (also about 0.5%) or a Tesco clubcard (1%) based on where I fill up. It helps but it's negligable. You'd save more money shopping about for the cheapest diesel on your route, driving more carefully/slowly, making sure your tire pressures are correct and that you're not carrying any unnecessary weight.0
