Ford Focus 2015 Rear Door Stuck

Hello All,

Can anyone advise on how to release the locking mechanism on a car door that is locked shut?

Rear passenger door on a 2015 Focus won't currently unlock, from both inside and outside.

The car door was replaced about 2 months ago but has worked fine since. In the last two weeks the car hasn't been used and as we were attempting to clean the car to sell it, we have discovered the passenger do now no longer works.

When pressing the lock button, you can hear the door lock, but there doesn't sound like anything happens to that door when unlock is pressed.

We've tried locking/unlocking car with the key and with the button in the car but nothing happens.

Any advice? We were planning on selling the car this week :(

You will most likely need to get the door card off on the inside of the door and work from there. Unfortunately this will most likely damage it.

I've had similar before on both an Audi and a Jaguar. Oddly on the Audi, kicking the area of the door alongside where the mechanism was with my heel and soft shoes on with someone jiggling the handle from the outside until it opened BUT it was an old Audi and they are prone to seizing - i dont think thats the case here.

You might need to get it professionally looked at - probably by the people who replaced the door as it sounds like something related to work has went wrong.
