According to the T&Cs on the First Direct website the following charges apply:-
Cash Advance Fee: 2.5% (minimum £2.50).
Commission on Foreign Currency Transactions: 2.75%
The only credit card providers who don't charge for foreign currency transactions are:- Nationwide B.S. & the Post Office (Worldwide). Saga (Europe only).0 -

I did get my information from one of their C.S. operatives, however I will go back and check.

What they probably meant is that they don't change a separate fee when you use your debit card overseas.
Some banks charge a fee per transaction + foreign exchange loading. FD only do the foreign exchange loading.
Nationwide is the only UK debit card I know which doesn't charge any foreign exchange loading.

No,Nationwide don't charge the usual loading of 2.75% - 3% charged by other credit card providers. They do of course charge a fee for withdrawing cash from an ATM just the same as in the UK.0 -

ramagel, Nationwide B.S. are well known as one of the best credit/debit card providers when it comes to overseas transactions. Anyway, I have double checked Nationwide's website specially for you!
NATIONWIDE B.S. Foreign Transactions:-
CREDIT CARD:-
PURCHASES - Loading:nil APR:15.9%
CASH (ATM or BANK):2.5% (MIN £3.00) APR:22.9%
DEBIT CARD:-
PURCHASES:- CHARGE: nil
CASH (ATM) CHARGE:nil
The only other credit card providers that don't charge a loading on foreign currency transactions are:- The Post Office (Worldwide) & Saga (Europe only). Neither of these companies issues debit cards.0
