Hi - welcome to the forum. You can switch energy suppliers at will. Your generation contract is separate from your supply contract. If E.oN is your FIT-payer then they will continue to ask you for generation readings and pay you your FIT payments. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hello mlwillerton and welcome to the Forums. Sorry for the late reply. Just spotted your question.
Happy to confirm Hengus' excellent advice - thanks Hengus. Imported electricity/gas accounts and Feed in Tariff (FIT) arrangements are handled separately. If we're your FIT provider, you can switch your imported energy accounts to the supplier of your choice without affecting the FIT arrangements. We'll continue to make your FIT payments as now.
For your imported energy, I'd pop your usage in kWh on to the independent Price Comparison sites to see what's available both with us and with the other suppliers. If the fixed tariff that's ending is inside the Price Protection window (open 49 calendar days before the tariff end date until 20 working days after), you can switch supplier without picking up any exit fees and stay on the cheaper prices whilst the move goes through. Provided, that is, the new supplier contacts us within this window.
Sorry again for the late reply.
