Removing stains on bricks

Hi
Have just had a ceiling plastered and there are a few water marks on brick work.

How can I remove these stains ?

    We had some workman clean their paintbrushes then shake them outside to dry them off. Whatever was on them stained our paved drive. They used brick acid to clean it.
